February 25, 2009, Jacksonville Beach, FL --- Hugh Green, President of the Legends Network for Legends Sports Experience and former NFL player, was named one of the top 80 college players of all time in a recent special issue of Sports Illustrated. Green played college football as defensive end for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers in the late 1970s where he was a three-time All-American. In 1980, Green won the Walter Camp Award, the Maxwell Award, and the Lombardi Award, and finished second in the Heisman Trophy balloting. Green left the university with 441 tackles and 53 career sacks in his college career.

Green was selected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996 and was named the fifth greatest college football player of all-time by collegefootballnews.com . In 2007, Green was ranked #14 on ESPN's Top 25 Players In College Football History list.

Green was selected as the seventh overall pick of the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1981 NFL Draft. He was elected to the Pro Bowl twice in his career. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in the middle of the 1985 season where he played six more seasons before retiring.

Green has always remained active in the sports industry.   His most recent endeavor, as President of the Legends Network for the Legends Sports Experience, allows him to work with fellow sports legends from various fields through youth sports nationwide.   Hugh heads up the network that includes names like Dan Marino and Morten Anderson.   These athletes connect with communities and fans at scheduled Legends sponsored events and will participate as mentors on the field, in camps, as well as in other interactive forums.
